Brake Controller Installation on 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee With Factory 7-Way Trailer Connector
Question:
I am about to install a trailer connection on my 1995 Grand Cherokee. I was reading one of the write ups on doing this install. I just checked under my dash on the left side where all the wire clusters are. In the write up it mentioned a green wire that is bundled in this area, I did not see a green wire I did however locate a BLUE wire labled Electric Brake, would this be the same as the green wire mentioned, if so what would be a good recommendation for a brake controller kit?

Sometimes Mopar used a light green wire, sometimes it was a blue wire. The fact that the wire you found has a tag on it positively identifies it as the brake output circuit.
I'd recommend the # 5506 Brake Controller Install Kit. I've linked you to a video showing the kit being used to install a different controller on a 2000 Grand Cherokee. The procedure on your vehicle would be very similar. The brake stoplight switch wire you'll need to attach the red brake controller wire to would be white in color on your vehicle, as opposed to the white/tan wire shown in the video. I'd recommend confirming the wire function by using a circuit tester like part # PTW2993.
If you'll be using the Hopkins Agility brake controller, I'd also recommend the # HM47685 quick-disconnect harness.
