Adding Electrical Connector for Wash Down Pump on a 2005 Dodge Ram 1500
Question:
2005 Dodge Ram 1500, Quad Cab, 4x4, 5.7L I cant get my trailer up the driveway and dont have convenient access to a wash rack for washing the trailer. My solution was to purchase a portable water tank and marine wash down pump to get water to the trailer for washing.. The pump spec is 6 gpm and 70 PSI. I set it up in the garage to see if pump pressure was going to be sufficient. Im happy with the setup, I now need to figure out the best solution for connecting the pump to my truck 12 volt supply. The tank and pump will be installed in the bed only when I want to wash the trailer and removed when done. Id like to be able to just plug into a 12 volt supply. Any suggestions on what to use and how to best get it done would be greatly appreciated.

I have a simple solution that I think you will like. All you will need is some 10 gauge wire, # 10-1-1, and some quick connectors, # DL24085. For the wire you will change the quantity to the amount of feet you will need which will depend on where you want the connector to go on the truck.
You would attach the power (and ground if applicable) wires to one of the connectors from the pump. The other connector will use the 10-1-1 wiring and will need to connect to the positive battery terminal via a 20 amp circuit breaker # PK54520.
Then all you have to do is plug the pump side into the vehicle side.
