Buzzing Sound Behind Wheel of Trailer When Brake Controller Connected on 2007 Chevrolet Silverado
Question:
what would be the cause of a buzzer going off behind the rear wheel on the passenger side of my Jayco travel trailer when I turn on my headlights? I have just installed a Primus IQ break controller on my 2007 Chev Silverado, I have not pulled this trailer for several years the buzzing sound stops as soon as I disconnect the break control unit. Thanks for any help you can share

I spoke with my contact at Tekonsha and it sounds like you may have the wrong plug-in wiring adapter. To install the Tekonsha Primus IQ Trailer Brake Controller, # TK90160, in your 2007 Chevrolet Silverado Classic you will want to use wiring adapter, # 3015-P.
To determine if you have the correct harness you will want to follow these steps. Connect the trailer to your Silverado and the controller should display a "C." Next turn on the headlights and check to see if the "C" changes to numbers. If this happens, you do not have the correct wiring adapter and this is the cause of the buzzing behind the rear wheel of your Jayco travel trailer.
