Is the ball threads coarse thread or fine?i have a old style hitch with a nut welded in so trying to see if it would screw in.

I called my contact at B&W about the 2-5/16 Inch Hitch Ball, part # BWHB94009.

They told me this there are 4-1/2 threads per inch so it would be considered a coarse thread Ball shank.

The gooseneck ball part #BWHB94009 that you referenced does have a 2 inch diameter shank like what you said you need. Do you need a coarse thread? If so this will work well as it is a 2 inch diameter shank with coarse threads.
