Trailer Wiring Recommendation for a 2012 Nissan Murano
Question:
I have a 2012 Nissan Murano and I am planning to purchase a hidden hitch and wiring harness. 1. Do you have a preference for either T-One or Curt harness? I purchased from you a T-One for a previous vehicle and it was fine. 2. The harness instructions state running power wire directly to battery. Why is that necessary rather than obtaining power from someplace in the back like the power outlet? Thank you.

We have the best luck with the Tow Ready wiring harnesses over the Curt ones. The converter boxes on the Tow Ready harnesses tend to last longer and have fewer issues so for your 2012 Nissan Murano I would recommend the Tow Ready Wiring Harness part # 118653.
You have to run the wire to the vehicle battery so that you can bypass the delicate taillight wiring of your vehicle and not have to worry about damaging anything on your vehicle in the event of a short on the harness.
