Hitch Recommendation for a 2003 Honda Odyssey

Question:

Hi All! I need to rent a trailer to carry some bricks and building material. I have a 2003 Honda Odyssey. I read the Curtis hitch has a additional 1/2inch clearance so Im leaning towards this trailer hitch. Im a novice so need to know what else I should get: wiring, ball? ... ? Thx!

We have everything you will need. Let's first start with a hitch for your 2003 Honda Odyssey. For that the Class III Curt hitch part # C13068 would be a great option as it would have plenty of capacity.

Next you will want to get a ball mount. When towing a trailer you want to get a ball mount that will allow the trailer to be towed as level as possible. To see how to pick out the correct ball mount you will need to check out the help article I attached. You will need to know the distance from the coupler to the ground on the trailer when it is sitting level. The rental place may have ball mounts that you can rent/borrow as well since it will be impossible to know what the height of the trailer is until you are in front of it and can compare it to the height of the hitch on your vehicle. Maybe call the rental place to see if they let you use one of their ball mounts.

For trailer wiring you would want the Tow Ready Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring # 118336. I attached an install video for you to check out as well.
