How to Remove Factory 7-way on a 2006 Ford Explorer
Question:
I need to purchase a couple of electrical trailer connectors for my 2006 Ford Explorer with the trailer package. Mine are corroded. I cant figure out how to disconnect the Explorer electrical connector. It has some sort of a lock holding the two connector pieces together. Does anyone at your company have any idea how to separate the 7 pin connector that is attached at the rear of the truck? Thanks.

There should be a grey locking clip on the 7-way harness like what is in the picture I attached. You will need to use a screwdriver to push that clip back slightly so that it can be slid back and off. Once that is off you will be able to press down on the center clip and pull the harness off. For more info check out the video that shows our installer doing this exact thing.
