Is the Set Screw of the Curt Adjustable Ball Mount # C45900 Required
Question:
The set screw is a nice idea for helping to keep the hitch quiet, but is its use required for safe operation of the hitch? Seems like it would be inconvenient if you had to adjust the hitch up and down frequently and I can see the wrench easily getting lost. Thank you.

For safe operation of the Channel Style Adjustable Ballmount # C45900 Channel Style Adjustable Ballmount the set screw isn't absolutely required, but it would be recommended since it will reduce movement of the ball mount.
