Recommended 7-Way Trailer Wiring Harness For 2004 Porsche Cayenne
Question:
Hello, I have a 2004 Porsche Cayenne S and I need the towing harness adapter for the car. I was looking at the Hopkins Endurance Multi-Tow 7-Way RV and 4-Way Flat Trailer Connector - Vehicle End Code HM40950. Is that the correct one? or what are my other options? Regards,

On your 2004 Porsche Cayenne the connector that would work best would depend on the setup you currently have. If you need the 7-way connector due to the trailer connector and if the trailer has brakes there are a couple of items you will need.
If you have a 7-way connector on your Cayenne and need to replace it the Hopkins Endurance Multi-Tow 7-Way RV and 4-Way Flat Trailer Connector, part # HM40950 would work fine for you.
If you have no 4-way connector at the back of your Cayenne I recommend first installing the Wiring, part # C59496. This will give you the required 4-Way connector at the back of your vehicle.
You will then need to plug your 4-way connector into part # ETBC7 and run the black power wire to the vehicle battery and ground the white wire. You will have two additional wires, blue which will need to be connected to a brake controller and purple, that can just be taped off. I have attached a link to a helpful article that explains how to route a power wire for a trailer wiring harness you can check out.
The brake controller I recommend is the Tekonsha Prodigy P2, part # 90885. This is one of our most popular because it is easy to install and operate.
