Recommended 4-Pole to 7-Pole and 4-Pole Adapter For 2014 Jeep Wrangler
Question:
I have a flat 4 pin plug provided by the Factory installation of a class three receiver on a 2014 Jeep Wrangler. I have a 7 blade plug on a 2015 T@G tear trailer that would allow recharging the RV battery if only the Jeep had a 7 blade plug on it. Do you have an adapter that would allow me to run a wire with a fuse in-line to a new 7 blade plug that would allow current to flow from my Jeep battery to the RV Battery so it would charge while I am transporting the RV down the highway or idling? do you also have a printed, color code diagram on how to install and wire the new plug onto the Jeep. I should not have to do anything to the RV plug.

The easiest way to wire your 2014 Jeep Wrangler is to install part # 37185.
This will plug into your 4-way connector on your Wrangler and after running an additional wire from the battery will give you a 7-way plug for your trailer and also a 4-way plug at the rear of your Jeep.
To run the hot wire from your battery to the # 37185 you will need additional wire like part # 10-1-1. This is jacketed 10 gauge wire that is sold by the foot. I also recommend an in-line circuit breaker like part # 9510 for the hot lead you are running to the battery. This will protect your vehicle battery if something on your trailer draws an excessive amount of current. For the wires you will not be using like the blue wire for a brake controller and the purple wire which is typically for auxiliary power, reverse lights, or reverse lockout for trailer brakes you can just cap those wires and they will be available for future use if needed.
I have attached a photo of the # 37185 that shows where each of the wires at the back of the connector would run. I have also included a link to a helpful article that explains trailer wiring you can check out.
When working with electrical connectors I recommend using dielectric grease like part # 11755. This keeps dirt and moisture out of the electrical connections and helps prevent corrosion.
