Is It Acceptable to Use Bias a Ply Tire As Spare Tire on 1999 Dutchman Tandem Axle Camper
Question:
I have a 1999 Dutchman camper 2 axle. The tires are ST205/75R14. Can I use a ST205/75D14 just for a spare? Trailer is under 5000# dry wt.

A ST205/75D-14 is a bias ply tire. It would be acceptable to use it for an emergency spare but I would recommend getting the radial repaired or replaced without any delay if you get a flat tire. I'd limit the time, distance and speed the tire is exposed to as much as possible.
The best practice is to use all four tires of the same construction, size and load rating. I've linked you to our Trailer Tire FAQ article, which has all kinds of helpful information about trailer tires.
