The Tekonsha Circuit Protected Tail Light w/ Converter Hardwire Kit, part # 119178KIT is indeed a fit for your 2016 Kia Sorento, but there are some plug-and play options now available that would be much easier to install. Since you don't have the factory tow package, you'd use # 118583 from Tekonsha.
For a hitch, the Curt # C13195 Class III hitch has been confirmed as a fit. For a ball mount, use # C45030 and for a trailer ball, use # 63845 for a 2 inch ball or # 19260 for a 1-7/8 inch ball. For a locking hitch pin, you can use # e98882.
