Recommended Replacement Trailer Brakes, Brake Drums and Hydraulic Coupler for Boat Trailer

Question:

Im interested in using Timbren 5200# product on my boat trailer to replace torsion axles. I need 6 lug hubs and the complete brake assembly including an actuator. I want to replace all the rolling components, but the frame is fine. 2-5/16 hitch ball for brake actuator. Dexter,or Tie Down components are fine. As much galvanized as is available. Please let me know what you recommend and pricing. Im out here on a rock in the middle of the Pacific and parts for boat trailers are not on the shelf! Thanks

The Timbren Axle-Less suspension system you mentioned is compatible with the brake hub/drum # 8-201-51UC3-EZ and the # T4489500 right hand and # T4489600 left hand free backing brake assemblies. The brake drums are galvanized and the brake assemblies have a Galphorite plating for corrosion protection. The brake drum has a 6 on 5-1/2 inch wheel bolt pattern.

It sounds like you're interested in a hydraulic or surge coupler. I'd recommend the Dexter Drop-N-Go Brake Actuator, part # 099-175-00 that would work great with the free-backing brakes I've recommended and is zinc plated. The coupler is compatible with 2 inch trailer balls, so you'd need to change the trailer ball on your ball mount to a 2 inch ball like part # A-90 for a ball with a 1-1/4 inch diameter shank or # 63852 for a ball with a 1 inch diameter shank.

You'll also need a brake line kit, like part # T4829900.
