The Curt Class I, part # C11412 will not have the stop punched or welded into the receiver tube to prevent higher capacity Class II accessories from being used. However, overloading the hitch can cause the receiver tube to bend or the hitch attachment points to the vehicle to fail. This being said, only a Class I rated accessory should be used in a Class I hitch. This Curt hitch # C11412 is compatible with a 2015 Golf, unless it's a TDI or a Gasoline R model.
