Will a Load Range D Rated Trailer Tire Replace a Load Range C Rated Trailer Tire on the Same Trailer

Question:

I currently have on my TT: Karrier ST205/75R14 Radial Trailer Tire with 14inch White Wheel - 5 on 4-1/2 - Load Range C. The wheel is the same white powder coated wheel that you sell with this tire. The tire is rated to load at 50 PSI. Can I buy this same tire size in load range D, mount it on the same 14inch - 5 on 4.5 wheel and run it at 65 PSI? Can the wheel handle that PSI?

Yes, you can use a load range D tire such as Kenda Karrier ST205/75R14 radial tire # AM10235 and run it at 65 psi. If you are replacing the load range C tires with load range D it will fit just fine on your 5 on 4-1/2 inch bolt pattern. You can run it at 65 psi just fine as long as the specifications on the tire allow it.

The Kenda Karrier radial tire # AM10235 will have a ply rating of 8 and the maximum load capacity is 2,040 pounds at 65 psi. Please note that going with a higher capacity tire does not increase the capacity of the trailer.

I included a video review on the Kenda Karrier for you as well.
