Availability of Extra-Long Brake Controller Wiring Adapter for Tekonsha Brake Controller
Question:
I have a 2014 Silverado 1500 and it has the factory Z71 and Z82 Trailer pkg but no Integrated Brake Controller? The reviews and concept is great but a few people already expressed concerns of the harness being too short ? This would limit locations to mount my controller and to the left of the str wheel would not be my first or second choice. Do you make a longer one or a extender??

Expert Reply:
We do not offer an extra-long version of the Tekonsha brake control wiring adapter # 3016, but you can easily make a longer harness for your Silverado for use with a Tekonsha or Draw-Tite controller by using part # 7894 along with the # 3016.
All you'll need to do is cut of the flat black connector from # 3016 adapter and splice its four wires, color for color, to the # 7894. This item includes the butt connectors for both wire gauges used. This will give you close to 30-inches of additional length to make your controller installation easier.
