Trailer Hitch Receiver Options for 2014 Nissan Xterra

Question:

Hi: I have a Nissan Xterra 2014 in need of a tow hitch. Your site shows only three....all 2inch receivers. Ill only be using it for a bike rack and only two bikes. Do you have anything Class I or II that bolts on an Xterra? Additionally how much does the CURT 13514 itself weigh. Concerned about how much additional weight Ill be lugging around. Heard that some of these can weigh up to 300lbs. Thanks

The three hitch receivers available for the 2014 Nissan Xterra are all Class III with a 2" hitch opening. A Class I or II hitch receiver are not available for your Xterra.

The actual weight of the Curt Class III Trailer Hitch Receiver, # 13514, is 36 lbs. As for hearing that the hitch can weigh up to 300 lbs, they may have been speaking of the maximum tongue weight capacity. The tongue weight capacity of a hitch is the maximum amount of weight that the fully loaded trailer can exert downward on the hitch ball of the tow vehicle. This specific hitch has a tongue weight capacity of 400 lbs.
