What Is Needed to Install the Prodigy Brake Controller on a 2010 Chevy Silverado with Tow Package
Question:
I have a 2010 Silverado with a towing package. Can I just plug the controller in or do I need an additional wiring harness? Thanks.

All you will need is the brake controller if your 2010 Chevy Silverado has a factory tow package with a 7-Way trailer connector. The Prodigy comes with a wiring harness that plugs into the back of it with blunt cut wires on the other side. These wires then need to be soldered or spliced to the vehicles tow package wiring.
This wiring is usually found underneath the dash, to the left of the brake pedal, and tied together with white tape. I have included installation instructions for the Tekonsha Prodigy below as well as a video installation of the Prodigy on a similar vehicle.
If for your truck does not have a 7-Way connection at the back, you will need to add the Twist-in, 7-Pole, RV-Style Trailer Connector, # PK11916. I have included a video installation featuring this connector on a similar vehicle.
