fifth wheel sliding pens have a lot of play when looking into place the fifth wheel moves back and forth when locked in on tralair the fifth wheel moves back and forth under load everything looking right faith will still slides back and forth

If the hitch is sliding by itself even with the handle locked then there is likely something wrong with the slider base or handle and parts will have to be replaced. The easiest thing to do would be to replace the whole slider base. If you have the Reese square tube slider then the replacement is # RP30048. I have also included a link to all of the replacement slider bases we carry.
Like you said, slider 5th wheel hitches have a lot of movement, this is the nature of the beast and given the amount of weight involved it is to be expected in small increments (fraction of an inch). But if it is excessively moving you will want to inspect the hitch without the trailer connected for worn or broken parts.
You should only have the hitch slid back when making low speed tight maneuvers. Never tow with the hitch slid back. When making tight turns there is probably going to be a lot of stops and starts and fine tuning so some chucking (front to back movement) is going to be expected and likely accentuated due to the low speed.
