Can Wheels from a 2004 Ford F-350 be Used on a Trailer

Question:

I have an extra set of wheels for my 2004 F-350. Are they compatible for use on a trailer?

Helpful Expert Reply:

No, you shouldn't use vehicle wheels on a trailer. Among other things, the offset (how far or close to the trailer the wheel is) is different on vehicles than trailers. Often times the bolt hole mounting patterns are not exactly right and the pilot (center) holes are usually not the correct sizes.

Trailer tires and wheels are designed for more vertical load than passenger vehicle tires and wheels and for all of these reasons it is not recommended to use vehicle wheels for a trailer.

I have included a link to all of the trailer tires and wheels we carry if you want to look through them for something that fits your needs.
