Will Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch 75650 Fit the 2010 Subaru Forester 2.5 XT Limited
Question:
We will be getting a canadian-built trailer in a few months factory backlog, it will be coming with a factory-provided lightweight weight distribution kit Reese, maybe, wanting 2inch receiver. Wet weight will be approximately 2250 or less , and the factory says foresters are commonly the TV of choice. Question: Will these hitches fit an XT, with all that exhaust stuff back there?

The Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver, # 75650 has been confirmed to fit the 2010 Subaru Forester 2.5 XT Limited. This custom fit trailer hitch offers bolt-on installation with no welding required. I have linked an installation video for you.
To complete the towing setup, I suggest going with the Curt Ball Mount, # C45010, Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock, # e98880, 2 inch Hitch Ball, # 63845, or the 1-7/8 inch Hitch Ball, # 19260. If the suggested ball mount does not have the correct rise or drop to tow the trailer level, use the link I have included that explains how to measure for the correct ball mount.
When it comes to towing your new trailer, the hitch receivers available for the Forester do not allow for use of a weight distribution system so the factory provided system could not be used.
After taking a look at the owner's manual, when towing a trailer with brakes, you are limited to 2,400 lbs. You will want to make sure that you do not exceed this towing capacity or the gross vehicle weight rating for the Forester.
