How Does the SportRack Vista XL Cargo Box Secure To Crossbar

Can you reverse the bolts so they go in from the top and tighten the nuts from the bottom of the cross rail?

The only way to use the install hardware for the SportRack Vista XL Cargo Box # SR7018 is with the plate mounting on the inside of the box and the u-bolt going around the crossbar, coming up through the box, and then getting secured with the wing nuts.

Since there is a curve in the u-bolt it would put undue stress on the inside of the cargo box if it was mounted upside down and tightened.
