Troubleshooting Disc Brake Calipers that Don't Line Up with Rotors After Seal Saver Install

Question:

I purchased the Bearing Buddy seal saver kit from you and I am putting disc brakes on my boat trailer . When I try to put the caliper on I cant get it to slide over the rotor. It seems the rotor is being held out away from the mounting bracket. Is it possible the seal savers dont allow the rotor to slide far enough onto the spindle?

First thing you want to do is verify that you have installed the Bearing Buddy Seal Saver kit part # BB60010 that you referenced like the video I attached demonstrates.

When properly installed the seal saver kit would not push the hub out any further preventing the brake mounting flange from installing properly. What I suspect is happening if the Seal Saver is installed properly is that you need to compress the pistons of the caliper more to allow it to slip over the rotor. Using a c-clamp and a brake pad you should have no problem doing this.
