To safely tow your Ram, you'll need to begin by determining if it's capable of being flat towed. My research indicates that you can flat tow your Ram with no issues, but I'd urge you to confirm that for yourself by consulting your owner's manual and your Ram dealer.

In order to flat tow your Ram, you'll need base plates, a tow bar, safety cables, a lighting solution and a supplemental braking system.

Because of the weight of your 3500 Diesel, you'll need a heavy duty tow bar. I'd recommend the Blue Ox Avail, part # BX7420 which also includes safety cables. For your application, I prefer the Blue Ox # BX1989 Base plates and tow bars, because I find the connection system between the tow bar and the baseplate is cleaner and easier to use.

For a lighting solution, I'd recommend the Roadmaster # RM-154 flat towing wiring harness. The harness would wire directly into the taillight circuits directly behind the taillight assemblies.

Supplemental braking systems are required by law in almost every State and Canadian Province. There are many supplemental braking system options, but I like the Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR. The Patriot has a slightly higher initial price than some other options, but by going this route, you'll save hundreds in labor as the Patriot installs and removes in seconds. You'll also need a # RM-751460 stoplight switch kit and a # RM-9332 12-volt outlet.

I've linked you to some helpful FAQ articles as well as an install video showing the Patriot being installed on a 2013 RAM.
