Will Dexter Hub and Drum Assembly 84546UC3 Fit a Dexter 2,500 Pound Axle

Question:

This is a follow up to a previously asked question. I have checked for the bearing #s on my Dexter axle but they are not legible. I measured them and the outside bearings ID is 1 1/16. The inside bearings ID is 1 3/8. The hubs you have for the 2500Lb axle are two of the same size bearings, so I know that wont work. I believe these drums may be the correct ones but I cant find an ID measurements for the bearings or anything else that assures me of my guess. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you,

The bearings included with the Dexter 3,500 pound hub and drum assembly you are looking at are inner bearing L68149 and outer bearing L44649.

The inner diameter of L68149 is 1.378 inches. The inside diameter of L44649 is 1.063 inches. These measurements are close to but not the same as 1-3/8 inches or 1-1/16 inches. To measure bearings properly you will need a more precise tool for measuring like a dial caliper.

Part # 84546UC3 appears to be the right hub and bearing kit using your measurements. I checked with my Dexter contact and these hubs are used on several different Dexter axles, not just their 3,500 pound axles so there is a good chance that this is the right part, but in order to be 100 percent sure, you will need either bearing numbers or exact measurements on the bearings.
