Trailer Hitch and Wiring for a 2015 Volkswagen Golf TDI
Question:
Does this work for a TDI? The description says it will not, others have said that it will. If this cant be installed on a TDI, is there a version that will work?

Expert Reply:
We do have a trailer hitch that will fit your 2015 Volkswagen Golf TDI. You can use Curt trailer hitch # C11412. This is a Class I trailer hitch rated for 2,000 pounds gross trailer weight. It does not fit R models, but it fits all other models like your TDI.
If you plan on doing some towing the correct ball mount to use is # C45521. For a 1-7/8 inch ball use # 19256 and for a 2 inch ball use # 19258. And for trailer wiring use # 118646.
If you want to use the hitch for an accessory such as a bike rack or cargo carrier then you have to make sure the accessory is rated for use with a Class I trailer hitch. Also, with a bike rack, you are limited to 2 bikes maximum on a Class I hitch.
You will also need the stabilizer strap # 18050 which is required by the Curt hitch when using a bike rack or cargo carrier.
