Adapter Recommendation for a FJ Cruiser with a 4-Way Towing a Trailer with a 7-Way
Question:
I have a FJ Cruiser with the factory flat 4 pin connector and I am towing a trailer that has a 7 pin connector without using the brakes and I wanted to know if this adapter will still work for the brake and turn signal lights without using the remaining 3 wire leads for the brakes? Can I just tape those up for now? Thank you!

Yes, the Adapter 4 Pole to 7 Pole # 30717 that you referenced will do exactly what you want and will allow your FJ Cruiser to connect to your trailer that has a 7-way.
A better choice might be the # 37185. This comes with a mounting bracket and a 4-way on the side of the 7-way as well. Either adapter will allow to tow your trailer and all of the taillight functions will work properly.
