Brake Controller Recommendation For 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee With Factory 7-Way Connector
Question:
I have a 22foot Airstream Trailer with electric drum brakes and a seven way plug. I have just purchased a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited, and a part 75699 hitch from you folks. I notice what appears to be a plug for what I believe to be the electrical hook up in the center rear of the vehicle. Please recommend the appropriate electrical wiring harness for the lights and the braking system. Im inclined to think that Id prefer an inertia type system that senses and provides a braking response that reflects the intensity of the braking force. Thanks and best wishes for 2015!

Thanks for being an Etrailer customer. We have just what you need to get the Airstream trailer hooked up to your 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee.
I recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Brake Controller, part # 90195. This is one of our most popular proportional brake controllers because it is easy to install and operate. This brake controller operates the brakes on your trailer in proportion to the braking action on your Jeep.
Since you have the factory 7-way connector at the rear of your Jeep I recommend the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter, part # TK93VR. One end plugs into the back of the brake controller and the other end simply plugs into the built-in harness under the dash of your Grand Cherokee.
I have attached a link to an installation video for this system on a 2014 Grand Cherokee you can check out. The installation should be very similar on your vehicle.
I have attached a couple of helpful articles about brake controllers you can take a look at.
