Will theThule Quest Roof Rack Storage Cargo Bag, TH846 Damage Paint on a 2005 Toyota Sienna
Question:
In your video, it appears that the Thule Quest roof rack storage bag lays directly on the roof. If we purchased one, we would mount it on a 2005 Toyota Sienna van. After use, can we expect to have ruined the paint where the bag has been mounted?

I spoke with my contact at Thule and she stated that in the testing they have done, no paint was damaged on the test vehicles. She recommends that you do not overload the bag (stay within the capacity), and remove it when not in use. She continued by stating that in all of the years they have manufactured and sold the soft cargo bags, they have not received any complaints about paint damage or scratching. Before each use, be sure to clean the top of your van and the bottom of the bag to remove any debris that may cause damage. I am confident that the Thule Quest Roof Mounted Cargo Bag, # TH846, will not damage the paint on your 2005 Toyota Sienna.
