Brake Controller Option for Towing Camper with Several Different Vehicles
Question:
I need to tow the trailer with the electrical braking with several vehicles and od not want to install a control unit in each vehicle. Can I install the control in the trailer itself? It is a camping trailer with its own battery so I have a constant power supply.

For the most part, a brake controller shouldn't be installed where its controls aren't in reach of the driver or where it's exposed to the elements.
However, we do have an option that's perfect for what you're wanting to do. The Curt Echo # C51180 installs at the connection between the vehicle's 7-way and the trailer's trailer connector. Each vehicle will need a functional 7-way trailer connector with an active 12-volt feed. The controller uses your iOS or Android-powered smart phone as the control interface/display, so it would be easily transferred between vehicles.
