LED Trailer Lights Not Working

Question:

Hello - I recently purchased rear LED tail lights from you that take a 3 prong plug like my existing ones do on my load rite trailer. The old lights work fine, I just wanted to upgrade to the newer LED style ones. However, the new lights dont work on the trailer when I plug them in. I believe this is because the old plug has a different wiring configuration than the new lights do. Did you ever hear of this before? Is the only fix to rewire the trailer ends plug to match the new lights?

Thanks for your recent purchase!

This sounds like a ground issue. Ground problems normally show up when there is more draw on a system such as when you have the running lights on and then use another function like a turn signal or brake light.

Make sure that the vehicle side and trailer side connectors are clean and free of corrosion inside and out. The main connector grounds should be attached to clean and corrosion free bare metal surfaces.

The light grounds should also be attached to clean and corrosion free bare metal surfaces. If there is anything between a light ground and the metal trailer frame or if the trailer has an aluminum frame, tilt bed, or folding tongue, any of these things can interrupt the ground. Running jumper wires from the light grounds to the main trailer connector ground can help.

If all looks good, you may need to rewire the trailer ends with Right Angle 3-Wire pigtail for sealed trailer stop, turn and tail lights # A47PB.

I have included a FAQ and video review for you as well.
