Brake Controller Installation on 2014 Ford E350 Van

Question:

I bought the above controller for my e350. Where does it plug into my vehicle?

The vehicle is unlikely to have the connector behind the dash unless it has the factory equipped 7-way on the rear bumper. If it does, the connector that the controller would plug into is clipped to the rear of the small cubbyhole or coin tray in the dash. You'll access the connector by removing the coin tray.

If the van doesn't have the factory 7-way, you'll need to hardwire the brake controller using our Install Kit, part # ETBC7. If your vehicle is a motorhome on a van cutaway chassis, you'll need some extra wire, sold by the foot as part # 10-2-1. The kit includes an adapter that would convert an existing 4-pole into a 7-way. If there isn't an existing 4 pole, you can install one using # 18252 or you could simply cut off the 4 pole plug on the adapter and tap the green wire into the right turn circuit, the yellow wire into the left turn circuit, the brown wire into the running light circuit and ground the white wire to the vehicle frame. You'll most likely need some wire like # 16-4B-1 to reach the taillight circuits from the adapter.

I'll link you to the installation instructions for the install kit.
