We do offer a trailer hitch designed to fit your 2005 Mercedes-Benz E-Class.
The trailer hitch I recommend is the Curt Trailer hitch, part # C11701. This is a Class l hitch and has a 1-1/4 inch receiver opening. The hitch pin and clip are included.
All non-trailer loads like bike racks or cargo carriers are required to use stabilizing straps like part # 18050. Failure to properly support these loads will void your hitch warranty from Curt.
If you plan on doing light towing I recommend a ball mount like part # 3593. This is a Class l ball mount and features a 2-1/8 inch rise or 2-3/4 inch drop and is rated for 2,000 lbs gross trailer weight. I have attached a link to the ball mounts we have that will work with a Class l hitch you can take a look at.
If you need a 1-7/8 inch hitch ball I recommend part # 19256. for a 2 inch hitch ball I recommend part # 19258.
The wiring we offer for your vehicle is the Tekonsha Wiring, part # 119250KIT. This kit comes with everything needed to install a 4-way connector at the rear of your car. The kit even includes a circuit tester. I have attached a link to an installation video for this wiring kit on an E-Class you can check out.
If you plan on using your hitch for a bike rack or cargo carrier you can check out the attached links for some of the products we offer that may work for you. If you have a specific item you are interested in let me know and I will make some recommendations that will work for you.
