Not nstalled yet, but the order process to delivery was top notch. This is our 3rd order from etrailer and will not be the last!!

by:

The Curt Trailer Hitch fit the car well and the install went smoothly. Having hardware supplied for two ways of installing the hitch was good. I used the fishwire to feed the carriage bolts through the 1" hole I drilled and everything went smoothly for the installation.

by:
2000 Toyota Corolla

Product is top notch. Instructions could be improved. My car did not have the weldnuts. Instead of cutting a hole and fishing the hardware, I removed the rear bumper. It was easy to install the hitch and then reinstall the bumper. Total time was 2 hours.

by:

Easy to install, slight modification to the bumper guard and it was installed without issue

by:
2000 Toyota Corolla

Solid construction. Pretty clean looking. installation wasnt bad. since a standalone picture of a drawbar is included with this item number I would anticipate it came with it. nope. It does say so below in the description but there should not be a picture of it if it serves no purpose. I would gladly have purchased the drawbar if it it was checkbox as an ad-on. The instructions for universal installation were helpful. i did not drill a hole in the frame per the instructions as it is unnecessary on 2000 corolla. you can access the inside of the frame by removing the bumper which i found pretty easy to do. remove the plastic bumper first if you do this.

by:

I needed to remove bumper & cover to install hitch, about 4 hours
including wiring lites. hitch works well & is hardly noticeable

Happy in Indy

by:

Best prices on the Web, and VERY quick shipping. I'm very pleased with how quick I was able to receive my parts. AND, I actually received all of the parts that I ordered. Unlike other companies, Etrailer is excellent about ensuring the parts I ordered are sent the first time.

1998 Toyota Corolla

Great prices and fast shipping. I have never installed a hitch before. But with the instructions provided in the package. I finished in no time flat.

by:
2000 Toyota Corolla

Price and delivery excellent!
installation
extremely difficult because Corolla does not provide threaded holes for bolts greatly complicating installation it took me 3 hours to install because of that.

by:

Fits well. Fairly easy to install. Needs trimming of under bumper but no one will see that.

by:

Wow i'm very surprise about the efficacity of your services. Thank very much.
In canada the services is defect

by:

  • What are the Wire Installation Tools that come in the Parts Kit with Curt Trailer Hitch # C11181
The springs with long tails that came with your Curt Trailer Hitch, item # C11181, are referred to as fishwires or bolt leaders. These are used to install bolts and washers inside of the trailer frame. The way they work is that you attach the bolt, and washer if needed, to the spring looking portion of the fishwire by threading the bolt into the spring and then using the tag end you fish the wire route the wire through an access hole large enough for the bolt and washer to fit through and...

  • Trailer Hitch Fit for 1996 or 1997 Toyota Corolla
The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11375 is not a fit for your Toyota Corolla. It is a fit for 2014-2016 Scion tC models. The tabs even if they were to fit will not allow that hitch to work on your Corolla. To ensure the vehicle model year, you can have your VIN number checked with your local Toyota dealer. For a 1996 or 1997 Toyota Corolla Sedan, Curt # C11181 is a confirmed fit.

  • Rhode Gear Hitch Mounted Bike Rack Availability For a 1997 Toyota Corolla
If your 1997 Toyota Corolla has a Class I trailer hitch, then the Rhode Gear Highway 2 Bike Rack, # RG8015220, will fit. This bike rack is economically priced and one of our most popular bike racks. This rack also has a tilt-away feature that will allow you to access your trunk without having to remove the rack. If you will be carrying any womens, childrens or alternative bike frames, then you will also want the Yakima Tube Top Adapter Bar, # Y02531, to keep the bikes stable during the...

  • Hitch and Bike Rack Recommendation for a 2001 Toyota Corolla
The hitch I would recommend for your 2001 Toyota Corolla is the Curt part # C11181. It is a class I with a 1-1/4" opening. The most popular platform bike rack we offer that would work great for you is the Swagman XTC2 Bike Rack part # S64670. This rack has a ton of positive reviews from our customers, so I feel very confident recommending it for you. My dad actually has this rack as well and he likes it quite a bit. Check out the review video I attached to the right for more info.

  • Bike Rack Recommendation for a 1999 Toyota Corolla
1-1/4 inch hitch accessories that are listed as Class II only physically can't be installed in a Class I hitch as there is a safety device installed in the Class I hitches that prevents a Class II accessory from being installed in it. Check out the FAQ article I attached to the right on hitch classifications and the picture I attached as well. For a similar bike rack that would fit your Class I hitch I would recommend the Swagman XTC2 Bike Rack part # S64670. This is the most popular rack...

Curt trailer hitch # C11181 is a Class I trailer hitch with a 1-1/4 inch receiver so the two are compatible. This hitch does require the use of a stabilization strap, # 18050, for use with a bike rack for Curts warranty.

To equip your Corolla for towing, you'll need to add a hitch, a trailer wiring harness, a ball mount and the properly sized trailer ball. If the trailer doesn't have brakes, this is all you'd need. For a hitch, I'd recommend the Curt Class I hitch, part # C11181. For a wiring harness, use # 119178KIT and for a ball mount, use # C45521 along with a # PC2 hitch pin. For a trailer ball, use # A-80 for a 1-7/8 inch or # A-82 for a 2 inch diameter ball.
