Are you tired of carrying a bulky ring of keys - for your hitch lock and coupler lock, your pickup cover or trailer door, and all the various padlocks securing your equipment? Tired of fumbling for the right key or having to replace a lost key?
BOLT (Breakthrough One-key Lock Technology) has solved that problem by designing a line of locks that can operate with a key you already have handy - your vehicle ignition key.
When you insert your own key into the cylinder, spring-loaded plate tumblers move up and down until they are matched exactly to that key. The first time the key is rotated, the cylinder is uniquely coded to that key. When the key is removed, the cylinder moves into the locked position. When the key is turned again, it will rotate to the unlocked position.
BOLT for Commercial Applications
BOLT is particularly useful in commercial applications. Imagine being able to send a crew without having to sign out multiple keys for a work truck, trailer, hitch pins, and equipment locks. With BOLT, the vehicle key becomes a master key. It opens all those locks and you no longer have the hassle of getting to a work site only to find that you've brought the wrong keys.

Very easy installation. Step by step. Didnt take very long at all. Just got a tonneau cover now I'm not worried to store things in the back. Very pleased with purchase and glad I was able to use my ignition key for new tailgate lock

This review is for the (Tailgate Handle with Bolt Lock that keys to late model GM Keys.
I reviewed the online etrailer video and it seemed very easy. As it turned out it is every bit as easy as the video looks. I spent a total of 10 minutes from removing the old handle to the installation of the the new handle. The quality of this handle is equal to or better than the OEM part that I removed. The easiest step was coding the ignition key to this lock. (Wow how simple) Now with my new ( Hard Trifold Top) I just purchased and this new lock my tools are locked and secured . You can't go wrong with this product just make sure you order the correct one for you vehicle . Which brings up my next point. I was a little confused on the website as to if this would fit my truck. I called the 800 number provided and spoke with Ray. Ray could not answer my question but immediately offered to call the manufacturer for the correct information. In less than 3 minutes he returned with my answer which I then placed my order with Ray. I have never had an experience with any company representative from any company that works, at the level Ray does for the customer. Thanks Ray and Thanks to (etrailer) I will be a returning customer

2012 Chevrolet Silverado
Product arrived this afternoon and I started installing it. I have a backup camera on my Chevrolet so I had to change the lock from the etrailer bezel to the factory bezel which took about 5 minutes. With having to do this it took about 20 minutes to install the Etrailer lock. After installing I inserted key per instructions and coded the lock to my pickup key. Coded first time and I can lock or unlock tailgate with my truck key. Very good instructions, easy to install, and works perfectly. Can leave tailgate unlocked or locked.

2014 GMC Sierra 2500
It installed very easily and the "smart" lock cylinder worked just as advertised. Packaging said the vehicle year upper limit was 2013 but it fit my 2014 just fine. Works well to secure the bed of my truck with the addition of my new topper.

2013 Chevrolet Silverado
Original equipment locking tailgate latch on my 2013 Silverado quit working. Removed the latch and found corrosion. Cleaned up and lubed only to find that the locking arm could not pivot at all from the corrosion. Purchased the replacement BL5922987. Took 20 minutes total to switch over. Perfect match, keyed with ignition key and life is good again. Fast shipping from etrailer, good service video to aid in installation should you need it. Also, the price was great especially after checking the dealership for the part. If you can't get your latch to keep the tailgate closed or the locking function quite working, or you want to upgrade to a locking system, this is the kit to use. Identical to original part. Highly recommend!
