TorkLift Camper Tie-Downs - Custom Frame Mount - Front

  • Adjusts for simple, secure connection to camper
    • Extend arms out from truck body to clear bowed sidewalls and fenders

  • Made of black powder coated steel to resist corrosion
  • Mounts tight to your vehicle's frame - minimal loss of ground clearance

  • Includes 2 front tie-downs and installation hardware
  • Made in the USA
  • Lifetime warranty

A Safe Ride is a Comfortable Ride

If you're looking for the best tie-downs for your camper, frame-mounted is the way to go. The frame is the most solid part of your entire vehicle, so it just makes sense to attach your camper to something that's not going to warp, bend, or twist. Even more importantly, the camper's center of gravity will sit lower and its weight will be spread across the entire bed. This avoids a top-heavy load perched on top of your bed rails that's liable to sway and get pushed around by crosswinds. The camper's not going to shift or slide around while you drive; it's going to stay put, and your truck is going to handle just like it does without a camper.

Quick Tip: If you have a plastic or spray-in bed liner, it's important that you use a rubber mat under the camper to eliminate any sliding or bouncing.

Don't Ruin Your Truck's Looks

how will tork lift tie downs look on my truck

Frame-mounted tie-downs are also a great pick for preserving your truck's good looks. The brackets install on the frame, tucked nearly flush with the underside of the vehicle. Remove the arms from the brackets when you're not hauling your camper, and the brackets will be barely visible.

Custom Fit, No-Drill Installation

Completely custom to your vehicle, the tie-downs attach to exisiting holes in your frame so that there's little to no drilling and no need for any modifications. Because they're custom, you'll want to use our in-house application guide to make sure you get the exact right model. The tie-downs you need might be different depending on what type of hitch or other accessories you have.

Securing Your Camper

TorkLift Tie Down Example

Once the tie-downs are installed, use a set of turnbuckles (sold separately) to secure the camper to the tie-downs. The shank on each arm has 2 pin holes so you can choose how far out they extend, that way the turnbuckles can reach the anchors on your camper without making contact with your truck. Tighten the turnbuckles to the correct level of tension (not too tight!).

where to put camper tie downs

Make sure the anchor points are offset from the tie-downs instead of lined up with them so that they will hold your camper from multiple angles. This is important for keeping your camper from shifting. Two holes in the attachment plate of the tie-downs let you find the best angle for you camper anchors.

The rear Torklift camper tie down instructions and install were straight forward and an easy install. However, the front Torklift camper tie down instructions and install was difficult. The instructions were not clear and the photos of the install included on the instructions were very poor quality. Additionally, the instructions said to torque the bolts but there was not sufficient room to get a torque ratchet on the bolt. In fact it was very difficult to even get two of the nuts on the bolt. Look at the attached photo and you will see that there is no way to get a torque ratchet on this nut. If you order this product expect it to be tough to install and difficult to mount it according to the specifications.

Looking good. The frame mounts arrived well packaged and in good condition.
Installation was very difficult on the 2014 f150. There are no videos covering this year of Ford. The written instructions were OK but the pictures truly are worthless, all you can see is a white stick pointing at some black object in a black picture.
Do not attempt to install these mounts by yourself on a 2014 ford f150, there isn't enough room and you don't have enough hands.
I wasted 3 hours trying to install the drivers side by myself and gave up. With my beautiful assistants help we were finally able to install the drivers side in 45 minutes. The passenger side too 45 minutes as well to install.

Once again the product looks good and arrived in great shape. Time will tell how it performs.

Product is well engineered. It bolted up nicely. Black and white photos are not shape enough to be of much help. A drawing would be better. Accessory package was missing rectangular retainer washers. (A huge inconvenience). Company did make amends for inconvenience. This is a useful, and well designed product. I'd give it an excellent rating if instructions were a bit more detailed.

The TorkLift Custom Frame-Mounted Camper Tie-Downs were a breeze to install. We traveled over 8,000 miles and never had an issue. So easy to install and remove the ends when you use them. When removed, you can hardly see the frame mounted sections. Great product, especially when used with the Torklift FastGun turnbuckles.

The units appeared to be well made and were nicely painted. I installed them on my F150. The tools and hardware supplied were of good quality and installation was straight forward. Two people would have been great, but I was able to install both sides in a little less than an hour. The holes all line up very well. I like these better than the previous units I had on my 2013, as they do not stick out as far - so less noticeable. The extension arms come out at a very nice angle just under the body. I find these units with quality I expected and I think they will be highly functional in attaching my camper.

I had the mountings professionally attached to the frame. The hatches can be easily removed when not in use( and I would recommend that to keep them from being stolen). Using chains and turnbuckles, I feel very comfortable with my truck camper staying where it is.. does not rock, very solid.
It’s nice to feel secure about my camper staying firmly attached.
It was worth the investment.

These tiedowns were great. They fit my 2023 ford f350 4wd crew cab perfectly. They bolted on using existing holes and they included wire feeders to feed the bolts through all the holes. Everything was included in the kit and installation was pretty simple. Probably took an hour or so. Directions were very good and easy to follow. They hold my camper down very securely and are adjustable for various widths. Also easy to drill different hokes for custom widths. I highly recommend this tie down for this model truck.

  • Stake Pocket Mount Camper Tie Downs for a 2012 Ford F-150
  • A frame mount system is not needed to tie down a truck bed camper but I would go with something a little more robust than cargo tie downs and something that is designed for campers. Take a look at he stake pocket mount tie downs, # TDSF. These tie downs bolt in place in the stake pockets of the truck. Then, using hardware package # TDHP, you can properly tie down your camper. I have included a link to the installation instructions for you. If you wanted frame mounted tie downs they are

  • Recommended TorkLift Camper Tie-Downs For A 2014 Ram 2500
  • For a 2014 Ram 2500 with an underbed step and factory installed hitch you would need the TorkLift Custom Frame-Mounted Camper Tie-Downs - Front # TLD2127 and Rear # TLD3109, regardless of the bed length. • Correct TorkLift Custom Frame-Mounted Camper Tie-Downs for a 2014 Ford F-150 with 6-1/2' Bed
  • The correct TorkLift Custom Frame-Mounted Camper Tie-Downs for a 2014 Ford F-150 with 6-1/2' Bed is part # TLF2014 for the front and part # TLF3005 for the rear. These would then pair perfectly with the TorkLift Locking FastGun Turnbuckles for Frame-Mounted Tie-Downs part # TLS9529-2-LK which will be used to secure the camper to the tie-downs. This will be everything you need to secure your truck bed camper and an excellent option at that with custom brackets and locking tie-downs for security.
