Stake Pocket Mount Camper Tie Downs for a 2012 Ford F-150
Question:
I have a 2012F150 and I plan to purchase a pop-up camper. The model camper I plan to purchase will weigh approximately 1000 lbs. Given the reduced weight compared to other campers I dont see the need to purchase an elaborate tie down system that mounts to the frame. Am I correct to assume stake tie downs will support a light weight pop-up camper on an F150 w/o causing damage to the integrity of the bed box? If so, which model# stakes and tie downs would you recommend?

A frame mount system is not needed to tie down a truck bed camper but I would go with something a little more robust than cargo tie downs and something that is designed for campers. Take a look at he stake pocket mount tie downs, # TDSF. These tie downs bolt in place in the stake pockets of the truck. Then, using hardware package # TDHP, you can properly tie down your camper. I have included a link to the installation instructions for you.
If you wanted frame mounted tie downs they are certainly the best and strongest option. I have included a link to the main page for you where you can select the specific configuration of your truck to get the right ones.
