This Generation III Classic Personal snowplow is the most recent innovation from SnowBear. This plow conveniently slides into your vehicle's front-mounted trailer hitch (sold separately) for easy, convenient mounting. It has a remote-controlled electric winch that will let you raise and lower the plow without leaving the warmth and comfort of your cab. The pivoting blade makes this plow ideal for rocky or uneven surfaces because it can adjust to the terrain. Angled trip springs are also built in to help keep the blade from catching and tripping.

Simple, Hitch-Mounted Installation

HITCH MOUNTING

This hitch-mounted snowplow simply slides into your vehicle's front trailer hitch receiver, making it a breeze to install. Unlike a plow that attaches to custom-fit brackets, which ties you down to just 1 vehicle, this hitch-mounted plow can be used on most trucks or SUVs with a 2" x 2" front-mounted hitch. As a result, this plow can be easily switched between multiple vehicles. And because it offers a nearly universal fit, you won't have to buy a new plow when you replace your old vehicle.

To install the Personal snowplow, just slide the shank of the plow assembly into your 2" trailer hitch receiver . Then use a pin and clip or a hitch lock (sold separately) to secure the plow in the receiver.

How to Plow

Once the plow is mounted on your vehicle, lower the blade and set it to the desired angle. To set the angle, exit the vehicle and manually position the plow straight ahead or 22 degrees to the left or to the right. Angling the blade allows you to push snow off to the side where you want it without having to change the angle of your entire vehicle. This is especially useful on a driveway or private roadway where piling the snow straight ahead would create a barrier.

To begin plowing, just drive forward. When backing up to take another pass, be sure to lift the plow with the remote or the in-cab toggle switch, then lower it again before moving forward. When approaching a large pile of snow, be sure to decrease your speed. Slamming into a pile of snow can void the warranty on the Personal snowplow.

When you are finished, put your vehicle in park and lower the plow. Remove the plow from your vehicle after every use.

Easy Lifting with Electric Winch

WINCH

The electric winch on this plow allows you to easily lift and lower the blade using a toggle switch that mounts in your cab. You can also use the included wireless remote control. The winch uses a durable nylon strap, which is much quieter than a chain, to raise and lower the plow.

This little plow has been perfect for a Jeep Wrangler. I used it all winter and it kept the driveway clear, no complaints.

by: Carl05/08/2020

Very pleased with front mount trailer hitch from etrailer. I installed it on a 2002 dodge Dakota 4x4 to move my camping trailer around. I removed my front bumper (4 bolts and 2 wire from fog lights) very easy. I hit a deer years back and my front end was damaged,it was fixed, but when I went Hook up front hitch ,the bolts holes were off about by 1/4“. I solved the problem with Aluminum racing jack and 4 ton porta power to align holes in frame and hitch. The whole process took about a hour. I would suggest to hook front bolts over front axel plate first. The hitch is now the strongest part on my truck. Like I said my mounting holes were off due to hitting deer. Moving my trailer from the front is so much easier,I can hook it myself and I,m mid 70,s.etrailer is great, always a good experience with great customer service

by: John12/20/2023

It would have been nice if the gentleman who sold me my snow plow would have told me that I needed a drop down hitch instead of a straight hitch, which makes a big difference when trying to plow.

by: Bill11/17/2023

The plow works ok. It's easy enough to get on and off the vehicle. Fatal flaw is the winch strap. I have replaced 3 times in one winter of plowing. If you purchase this product be sure to order extra winch straps!

by: John01/17/2023

The receiver works well. It was very difficult to install. The two middle bolt holes (where a skid plate may go) didn’t line up correctly l. It was the correct year, make, and model for the hitch and my truck. I just couldn’t get them to bolt up correctly. The hitch is just mounted to the frame rails.

Thats not very common to hear. Lets look into this a bit further. Do you have any photos of the line up? I am thinking that this could have been bent in some way or possibly defective.

by: Chenoa08/18/2023

Not on yet but looks rugged and I have a pintle adapter to bolt on and am going to make a plow for the front of my Dakota for snow. al ps , just for the shipping dept. ,the box was destroyed with the rear of hitch hanging out of box. I could have packaged it better. Please educate your people about pressure points . It should not have busted out in 4 or 5 places.

Seamless experience from purchase to delivery. My hitch arrived on time as promised, well wrapped and now all I have to do is get it attached to my Durango. I hope that goes as smoothly.

I had the hitch professionally installed. It was relatively inexpensive to have that done and I know what my area of expertise is and attaching trailer hitches is not that area. The hitch is working wonderfully well. I had it attached to my dodge Durango and used it to launch and recover my boat this summer. It made launching and recovering the boat so easy. If I had known how much easier it was pushing a trailer with the front of the vehicle versus backing a trailer down a little tramp I would have done this year’s ago. The trailer hitch worked perfectly.

by: Woody F09/19/2018

This was and still is a great hitch , use it more in the winter than summer , I would use these people over and over again GREAT people to work with .

2000 DodgeDakota

Fit like a glove but a slight pain to install by myself. A floor Jack helped a lot. For my 2000 dodge Dakota SLT 4x4 quad cab the only thing I would change would be longer bolts for the center mount to allow reattachment of the skid plate.

Do you have a question about this Snow Plow?

  • Is Bumper Modification Required to Install a Front Mount Hitch on a 2003 Dodge Durango
  • We have front mount trailer hitches available for the 2003 Dodge Durango as long as it is a 4WD model. At this time there are no front mount hitches available for the 2WD models. If you have a 4WD model, then I recommend installing the Curt Front Mount Hitch, # 31080. This has the highest vertical pull rating of our front mount hitches and it does not require any bumper modifications. The receiver will sit just below the front bumper fascia. I have attached the installation instructions

  • Yes, you can absolutely mount a snow plow like the SnowBear Personal Snowplow for 2" Hitches # SB324-080 you referenced on the Draw-Tite front-mounted hitch you asked about: - Draw-Tite Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver # 65080 This hitch, which fits 2007 and up Toyota Tundras and Sequoias, meets the necessary standards and has a 500 lb vertical load limit (which is like tongue weight for a front-mount hitch), and the SnowBear weighs 315 lbs, so it has more than the necessary capacity.
