Your vehicle requires a converter to convert the trucks 5-Wire system down to the 4-Wire system used on trailers. In regards to surge brakes, disc brakes require a much higher psi than drum brakes for proper operation therefore the two types of brake actuators (disc/drum) are not cross-compatible.
