The Class III hitch with the best ground clearance for a 5th generation Honda Odyssey like your 2021 model would be the Curt # C64NR which would provide about 12 inches of ground clearance under the receiver tube. The system you're asking about, the # 49570 with friction bar # 83660 from Pro Series uses a friction sway control unit. It's not recommended that you back a trailer that has a friction sway unit unless that unit is 'shut off', thus removing all the tension from the unit. The unit is also removed pretty easily. When we installed the Draw-Tite Class III # 75270 and the Curt Class III # C13068 on a 2014 Honda Odyssey, we found that the distance from the bottom of the receiver tube to the ground of both hitches is right at 10-1/2 inches. I checked out our reviews and did not find anything regarding brakes wearing down using the Curt Echo Wireless Trailer Brake Controller # C51180. That said, the controller can apply your trailer brakes even if you are not hitting the brakes on your tow vehicle.

The bouncing and shaking that you saw in the video is the norm on the majority of cargo carriers on the market. The extended location from the hitch causes the carrier to bounce more than a hitch accessory that might sit closer to the vehicle.

We typically try to use 1/2 inch stainless steel staples when we install the CE Smith Deluxe Marine-Grade Carpeting, # CE11372, but 3/8 inch staples will work too.
