I would not recommend trying to fashion the Yakima Landing Pads 24, part # Y74FR, out of aluminum yourself. These fit kits have to be very precise, and trying to make one for yourself will definitely void any kind of warranty on the towers and crossbars.
As for the strength, Yakima has been doing quite well over the years with improving the quality of their products, so you can rest assured that the material of the Landing Pads 24 is strong enough to handle the 165-pound limit of the crossbars.... view full answer...
In the TracOne Truck Bed Ladder Rack for Toyota Tacoma # TH27000XTB-500 the aluminum U-channel and C-channel clamps that allow installation are silver in color as these have a natural finish. I confirmed this with my contact at TracRac. These clamps are available separate from the rack itself as part # TH41500. view full answer...
The Rhino-Rack Hitch Lock # RRRBCA025 has not been specifically tested with a hammer, though I can confidently tell you that it is highly unlikely for this lock to be broken in any relatively short amount of time with a hammer by anybody not named Thor. No lock is completely unbreakable but a padlock is a big deterrent to theft when there are certainly easier targets available.
I've added a link to a video review of this lock for you to check out (we'll see about getting one up with a... view full answer...

There are a couple ways to determine what kind of axle you have. If there aren't any part markings on the axle or anywhere else on the trailer frame that list your trailer axle specifications, you need to measure your spindle with a calipers to get a precise measurement. I couldn't find a matching bearing based on the measurements you provided, so make sure you are using the right equipment to take these spindle measurements. You can also measure the axle diameter to get an idea of the... view full answer...

If the Inno Velo Gripper, part # INRT202, has not been scratching the carbon fork of your current bike, then it probably will not scratch the carbon frame of your new bike.
However, I spoke with Inno on your behalf, and they cannot guarantee there will be no scratching. They recommended using some kind of padding between the grip of the Velo Gripper and the frame. view full answer...
