The solution to this is to plug the Hughes Autoformers Ground Neutral Bonded Plug for Generators # HU33FR into an open 15 amp outlet on the generators. There are a wide variety of things that could be causing your generator, like the A-iPower # 289-SUA2000I, to shut off after a minute of running it.
The common things to check for are making sure it has enough gas, that the gas is not old, how long it has been since the generator was started, if the battery is strong, and if you have a plugged fuel line. Additionally, if you have no already, check the generator breakers and see if they've been tripped. If they have tripped, reset the breaker back to the ON position and check again for functionality.

If you are connecting the Camco RV Power Defender Voltage Protector - 50 Amp, # CAM55306, directly to the generator and getting an "Open Neutral" fault when then connecting to RV you most likely have an issue either with the generator outlet the cord running to your RV. Atwood does not make, nor recommend, a start capacitor for their air conditioners. The Atwood # AT15027-22 15,500 BTU air conditioner that you referenced is rated to "run" at 11 amps, whitch at 120V AC = 1320 watts. In the absense of a start capacitor, the general rule of thumb is that you need double the amps to start an air conditioner. In this case, double 1320 watts is 2640 watts. A single yellow light on the Camco RV Power Defender, part # CAM55312 that you referenced indicates an open ground like you can see on the picture I attached. This is typically caused by a broken wire or bad connection in side the socket/plug of your generator.

The housing on the switch may not be as sturdy as the other parallel generator, but as long as it functions properly I wouldn't be concerned.
