The hitch is a Class ll hitch and it has a 1-1/4 inch receiver opening. A note from Curt states that All... view full answer...

The Curt wiring harness # C56388 is a standard 4-way connector that's commonly used in the United States. It powers the running, brake, and turn signals on a trailer. In order to connect your trailer with a European connector you'll need to replace the connector with a standard trailer side 4-way like part # HM38134. You'll need to determine which wires on the trailer are for each function and wire them into the new 4-way. On the 4-way the white wire needs to be grounded to a clean... view full answer...

The Thule Premium Self-Tensioning Snow Tire Chains # TH02230K34 that you referenced attaches to the lug nut of a wheel that is installed on a wheel already. You would not need to remove a lug nut, attach the chains and then reinstall. Its just a matter of attaching to an already mounted lug nut.
I attached a review and install video for this product for you to check out also. view full answer...

A build date of 2006 on what amounts to a 2007 Volkswagen Passat Wagon is going to require either a different harness, # 119250KIT, the other option is to change the way that # 118530 is pinned out on the connectors that attach to the tail light wiring.
I have included some pictures on how the connectors should be pinned for you. On the left side, you just have to switch the yellow and brown wire positions on both connectors in the harness.
For the right side it will be a mirror opposite... view full answer...
Great question!
The 12V power wire that comes with the 7-Way RV Upgrade Kit # ETBC7L will need to be wired directly to the battery on your 2004 Volkswagen Passat for safety reasons. The Curt Echo Wireless Trailer Brake Controller # C51180 pulls power for the trailer brakes through that 12V circuit so if you were to connect the power to those cigarette style outlets in the back you would overdraw what they are rated for.
It's not as easy running it up to the battery but it's better to... view full answer...

The Hopkins Backup Sensor System - Audible Alert # HM60100VA or the Smart Hitch camera with sensors # HM60195VA uses a wire that can be run either under the bumper or through it. I recommend drilling a hole just big enough for the connector on the wire through the bumper so you can have a clean look. You will then run the wire through a rubber grommet seal to access your wiring or along a trim panel to get to the wiring location without pinching or crimping the wires. view full answer...

Since vehicle wires colors are not standardized for function, such as the brake switch wire on your 2013 Volkswagen Passat TDI, the only foolproof way to find the correct input signal wire for installing your Tekonsha Prodigy P2 # 90885 is to use a circuit tester like # PTW2993.
Use of a tester is illustrated in the brief video I have linked for you.
You'll test each wire at the brake light switch one by one while a help presses the pedal to find the one wire that carries voltage only... view full answer...
In some cases, you will need to loosen and pull back any covering that is in the way to drill the required holes in the bumper beam to install Curt trailer hitch # 11054 on a 2004 Volkswagen Passat. If you have a wagon model, you will not drill in the bumper beam but rather fishwire in the hardware according to the instructions I have linked for you to view.
If you are able to get the vehicle up higher it will be easier to get a drill in place without having to loosen or remove anything... view full answer...
For a 2013 VW Passat sedan diesel, there is no drilling required to install Curt trailer hitch # C11234. I have included a link to the installation instructions so you can see what installation entails. There is some trimming required on an underbody panel and this is covered in the instructions as well.
This hitch comes with the appropriate ball mount, hitch pin, and clip. For a 1-7/8 inch ball, use # 19256 and for a 2 inch use # 19258. For trailer wiring you can use # C56201KIT. I have... view full answer...
You might be able to connect to the brake switch. Use a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 and carefully probe the wires exiting the brake switch. If you find one wire that only shows voltage when the brake pedal is pressed (but not with the running lights or turn signals) then you can tap the red wire from your Prodigy into that circuit.
The third brake light circuit might be a viable option to find a clean dedicated brake signal as well. Some of the newer VW's use Pulse Width Modulation... view full answer...

You will need harness # C59496 to wire your 2007 Volkswagen Passat for towing. Your vehicle has a multiplexed system which requires alternative wiring of this kit.
You will need to find the wiring plugged into the back of the taillights. On the driver's side use a test light, item # PTW2993 if needed, and find the wire that has tail, brake and turn functions. Connect the yellow wire from the converter box to this wire. Next find the 12-volt taillight wire and connect the brown wire to... view full answer...
The Firestone Elbow Connector, # F3289-1, is designed to accept Firestone 1/2 inch Air Line Tubing. The connection is made by making a square smooth cut on the tubing and pushing it into the connector. If the connection needs to be taken apart, this can be accomplished by holding in on the collar at the end of the push fitting and pulling out on the hose.
To make the the square smooth cut a tubing cutter is recommended, part # AL10530, It will help make the connection leak proof.
