  • Solution for Mounting 7-Way to 2023 Tesla Model Y
  • I have a couple possible solutions, but I don't think the hitch manufacturers had a 7-way in mind when they designed the hitches. There also is not a lot of space to work with on the 2023 Model Y. As you said, the safety chain attachments are in the way on the # DT58MR, and the cross tube is in the way for the other option from EcoHitch # EH39FR. I don't have the dimensions of the cutout, but it may still be possible to fit the 7-way to the left or right of the safety chain attachments....

  • Can Hole in Bumper Fascia from Installing EcoHitch Be Covered on 2021 Tesla Model 3
  • The EcoHitch # EH84GR is indeed a fit for the 2021 Tesla Model 3, it'll work great for you. When the removable receiver is detached, the hole in the underside of the bumper fascia can indeed be covered using part # 306-XA2002. I've provided a photo showing the # 306-XA2002 cover installed. I've linked to install videos for both the hitch and the # 306-XA2002 cover.

  • Can Safety Chain Loop Be Welded to Ball Mount for Towing Trailer
  • That would be a problem, yes. Your Safety Chain Loop # E950 needs to be welded to something that is welded or bolted on to the frame of your tow vehicle. Since a ball mount is secured to the hitch receiver via a hitch pin it isn't safe enough. Safety chains are supposed to be there as a last resort in a worst-case scenario where your trailer becomes uncoupled from your tow vehicle - this is why the safety chain loop needs to be installed directly to the tow vehicle itself. If for some...

  • The Eco-Hitch Trailer Hitch Receiver # 306-X7201 install will be dependent on your mechanical expertise. It has a difficulty level of 10 out of 10. It requires temporary removal of bumper/fascia during, fascia trimming, it is necessary to drill a hole in the bumper. I attached an install video to help you make your decision. If you are not comfortable with the installation yourself, any local shop could do the installation for you.

  • Does etrailer Hitch For 2023 Tesla Model 3 Fit Without Making Cut For Receiver to Protrude
  • Correct; because you have a 2023 Tesla Model 3 with the cut out already there for the receiver to protrude, you do not have to make the cut out when installing the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e33ZR.

  • Can Nylon Spacers Included with Hardware for EcoHitch on 2021 Tesla Model Y Be Replaced w/ Metal
  • According to my contact in the Tech Services department at EcoHitch, it is permissible to substitute the 6 nylon spacers included with the # EH39FR hitch for stainless steel washers if you wish, but it isn't necessarily something they recommend doing. Here's why. The hitch is constructed of powder coated steel which is being bolted to an aluminum car body. The nylon spacers prevent the two from being in direct contact with each other, preventing galvanic corrosion that occurs when two...

  • Installing EcoHitch Stealth Receiver on 2020 Tesla Model 3 and Concerns with Vehicle Rust
  • That is a great question. Installing the EcoHitch Stealth Trailer Hitch Receiver # EH84GR does indeed require that a 3-1/2" or 4" oval be cut on the underbody trim to allow clearance for the 2" drop-down receiver on 2018 models and older. The 2019 models and newer have a cut out already so no trimming is necessary. Since the drop-down receiver can actually be removed when you aren't towing, I definitely see your concern about this opening a door for the elements to creep in and potentially...

  • Does The EcoHitch EH36SR Utilize The Factory Removable Hitch Cover On A 2022+ Tesla Model S?
  • I went ahead and reached out to my contact at Torklift (EcoHitch) to confirm this. The EcoHitch # EH36SR does utilize the factory under fascia removable cover on a 2022+ Tesla Model S. So when the receiver insert is not installed, you can reinstall the factory hitch cover and hide the hitch completely. According to their instructions, you will not have to do any additional trimming.

  • Why Does Stealth Hitch Have More Towing Capacity than 2019 Tesla Model 3
  • This is a really good question but with any towing setup you are only as strong as your weakest component so even if you have a higher rated hitch you will always be limited by the capacity of the vehicle if it's lower. This is due to the hitch manufacturers designing a hitch that fits the vehicle and then engineering it to be as strong as possible and then independently rate the hitch from the vehicle. This is why the Stealth hitch # 391TES317T that fits your Model 3 is rated for more...

  • The Thule Helium Pro 2 Bike Rack - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Tilting - Aluminum, part # TH9042PRO, is a hanging bike rack that secures the bikes at three points, the front and rear end of the top tube and the seat tube. The front wheel and handlebars of the bike are not secure. You could secure the wheel to the mast of the Thule Helium with a strap to keep the wheels from spinning. Do keep in mind this hitch bike rack has a weight limit of 37.5 lbs per bike. I have included a video review...

  • Is There a Knockout Section In Under Body Panel on 2020 Tesla Model 3 for Stealth Hitch
  • In regards to the Stealth Hitches Hidden Rack Receiver part # 391TES317 which is a fit for a 2020 Tesla Model 3, there will need to be an opening made in the underbody panel to allow for the receiver to protrude through. In some cases, there is already a knock out panel in this location but others there's not. I don't really have any advice for obtaining an underbody panel with this knockout so I must simply recommend that you make the cuts as outlined in the instructions. I've heard...

  • Sure can! You'll want to set the hub to 3 when installing the Yakima FullBack 3 Bike Rack # Y02633 on your 2021 Tesla Model 3. You'll also want to adjust the bike rack so that the base pad is 1" above the bumper for proper fitment. The top hooks will need to be installed in anchor mode as well. You can see how this is installed in the instructions or by looking at the attached video I shot on a 2020 Audi Q7. If you jump to the 3:24 minute mar of the video you'll see me explain how to change...

  • Is Cutting a Hole In the Bumper Required for the EcoHitch Stealth Hitch On a 2020 Tesla Model 3
  • The EcoHitch Stealth Trailer Hitch Receiver part # EH84GR is an excellent option for a 2020 Tesla Model 3. The newer models has a hitch knockout panel under the rear bumper which is where the receiver tube will exit so no cutting or drilling will be required for this step. The older models did not have this knockout panel which is where the note is from.

  • Does the Ecohitch Part # EH84GR Require Trimming on my 2020 Tesla Model 3
  • There is just one modification that needs to be made to install the EcoHitch Stealth Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 306-X7373 on your 2020 Tesla Model 3. You will have to open up the hole to allow the receiver portion to be inserted. The hole panel is already there on the models 2019 and newer, so you are not technically cutting. It is more of a knockout provided by Tesla. I have linked an installation video we did on the 2021 Model 3 to show exactly what you will be modifying.

  • Required Fascia Cutting When Installing EcoHitch Trailer Hitch on 2019 Tesla Model 3
  • The installation instructions for the EcoHitch Stealth Trailer Hitch Receiver # EH84GR call for either a 3-1/2 inch or 4 inch hole saw. The advantage for the larger 4 inch hole is just more hand clearance to allow for easier mounting when inserting the receiver. I honestly just recommend going with the smallest possible hole (3-1/2 inches) as I'm sure you aren't overly enthused to cut into your Tesla's bumper fascia. HOWEVER, we have found that cutting is only needed on models before 2019....

  • The Tekonsha ZCI Circuit Protected Vehicle Wiring Harness w/ 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector and Installation Kit item # 119250KIT for your 2016 Tesla Model X does not require cutting or splicing wires but it isn't plug and play. It uses zero-contact interface sensors to identify the current flowing through each wire by simply clamping onto it. I have linked a couple of videos so you can see how the system works.

  • Is the Hollywood Racks Trail Rider Bike Rack Secure From Theft
  • The Hollywood Racks Trail Rider Bike Rack for 2 Bikes # HR200Z does come with bike and rack locks so it will keep opportunistic thieves honest, yes. It's important to note that given enough time, talent, and resources any lock can be beat though so if someone comes prepared to break the locks on the bike then this isn't a 100% guarantee. If you live in (or plan on visiting) a place that makes you a little nervous, then adding a cable lock like part # e98891 can help give more visuals...
