  • How Do You Connect a 7-Way Connector Adapter to Trailer Wiring Harness 118653
  • You can use Curt # C57672 to install a wireless Curt Echo # C51180 trailer brake controller to your 4-pole wiring setup. I recommend using the 7-Way RV Upgrade Kit for Trailer Brake Controller Installation # ETBC7L, because it comes with a similar 4-Way to 7-Way adapter but also all the wiring needed to run to your battery. Since you will be using a wireless smartphone-controlled brake controller you will not need to run a blue brake output wire. All you'll need to do is provide a 12V...

  • Does Battery Have to be Disconnected to Install Wiring Harness in 2020 Nissan Murano
  • Thanks for the purchase of the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch # 75952 and Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C56267 for your 2020 Nissan Murano. And yes, you definitely should disconnect the negative battery terminal before installing the harness; pulling the towing fuse would not have the same affect. The reason is if you don't disconnect that battery harness there is a possibility of a short that could damage the harness or other electrical systems...

  • Will Curt Trailer Hitch # C13205 Affect Liftgate Sensor on a 2018 Nissan Murano
  • Typically when a trailer hitch is installed on a vehicle with the automatic liftgate sensor it does not disable the sensor. It does get in the way, but you can generally still activate the liftgate by kicking to the left or right of the receiver. This is the same case for the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13205 on your 2018 Nissan Murano. I have attached an installation video of this trailer hitch on a 2017 Murano for you to reference as well. If you let me know what you will be using...

  • Which Brake Wire Is Needed for Brake Controller Installation on a 2006 Nissan Murano
  • I looked up the 2006 Nissan Murano and the two switches on your brake pedal are for the brake light and the other switch is for the traction control/cruise control. To find the correct wire you will need to use a circuit tester, part # PTW2993, and test the wires. I would start with the switch that has a red wire with a green stripe and test that wire for power only when the brakes are applied. I am including a link to a FAQ page on brake controllers. It does list some colors of the wires...

  • Can the Prodigy RF Brake Controller Use 12 Volt Power from a Trailer Mounted Battery
  • If the trailer became disconnected from the tow vehicle the Prodigy RF # TK94FR would not have that power interruption from the vehicle 12 volt circuit to tell it to apply the trailer brakes. The RF does actually need the brake signal to function properly. Also if something were to happen to the trailer mounted battery or its charge level was not what you thought it was you could have weak or no trailer brakes. the 12 volt circuit from a vehicle is reliable since the alternator charges...

  • Finding the Stop Light Wire on a 2003 Nissan Murano to Install an Electric Trailer Brake Controller
  • Finding the correct wire on the brake switch to connect the red wire from a brake controller can be cumbersome. It is different on every vehicle and the best way to find it is to test the wires using a circuit tester like # PTW2993. Using a circuit tester, like the Quickee Circuit Tester, # 3808, test each wire until you find the one that has a signal ONLY when the brake pedal is pressed. That is the wire you need to connect to the red wire of the brake controller on your 2003 Nissan Murano....

  • Travel Trailer Electric Jack Weight Capacity
  • The 3,500 lb capacity of an electric jack like # EJ-3520-BBX is the lifting capacity of the jack. What that means in a trailer scenario is that it would be able to lift the tongue weight of a trailer up to 3,500 lbs. Tongue Weight (TW) refers to the tongue weight of your trailer plus the weight of the cargo that sits behind the rear axle of your vehicle.Trailer TW is measured using a tongue weight scale. Typically, about 10 to 15 percent of GTW is tongue weight. Which mean that since...

  • How to Remove Undercoating on 2013 Nissan Murano to Install Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # 13577
  • It sounds to me like the dealer applied some type of undercoating to the vehicle. In this case you could try removing it off of the weld nuts with a putty knife in order to install the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver, # 13577, on your 2013 Nissan Murano. If you are unable to remove the coating yourself, I recommend contacting the dealer or the company that applied the undercoating for instructions on how to remove it from the weld nuts.

  • Trailer Hitch and Wiring for a 2015 Nissan Murano
  • A tie down bracket is usually just a little loop of metal that is used to secure vehicles to the car hauler trailer when they move cars from the factory to a dealership. Your 2015 Nissan Murano may not even have them in the way. They are usually right in the middle of the vehicle's rear end but could be off to the side on the frame somewhere. In the video I have linked showing installation of trailer hitch # 75952 they are not present. If you plan on doing some towing you might be interested...

  • Bolts Will Not Thread for Curt Trailer Hitch 13577 on 2013 Nissan Murano
  • If you are using the correct bold, then the method I recommend to clean the weld nuts is with a wire brush part # 814092 and spray lube. In order for the method to work you will need to let the lube soak for around an hour and then vigorously clean with the brush. If this still does not work then you can use a 12 mm X 1.25 tap. You need to be extremely careful when doing so as you can cross-thread the weld nuts rather easily. Let me know if this does not work.
