Hey Paul, so the wire colors that were mentioned in the answer page you found for the part # PD4135K are in reference to the colors of the power center.
On the front of the unit you'll have a green, white, and black wire. The green wire will connect to your ground bus bar, the white will connect to the negative bus bar, and the black will connect to a circuit breaker to power the DC side/converter.

Tapping into OEM wiring is a little daunting Fran so I am right there with you. You could use a brake light circuit at the rear of the vehicle if you wanted but again it would come down to testing the wires with a circuit tester till you find the circuit that has 12 volts only when brakes are applied. The easiest type of circuit tester to use is one with a hook and probe like the part # PTW2993 which makes tapping into the circuit pretty simple and easily does so without damaging anything.... view full answer...
Sounds like your boat trailer has two wires ran to each circuit on your current 4-way which isn't uncommon. Basically one wire is ran to each side of the trailer wiring so what you would need to do is run the matching circuits from both sides of the trailer wiring to the single wire of a 4-way like the part # 002402. If you have a Tekonsha or Draw-Tite brake controller then you could use part # 7894. Baseplates for 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee's are split up by models with lower air shutters and tow hooks. If your model doesn't have tow hooks or lower air shutters then you'll need part # BLU98CR. If you have tow hooks but no lower air shutters then you'll need part # BLU68CR.
The only option currently available that's compatible with lower air shutters is the Roadmaster # RM75GR, which would require removal of the tow hooks.

The T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118791 will potentially work, but we've received feedback that the connectors don't always match up with the tail lights so I recommend using the Curt Universal Wiring Harness # C59236 instead.

It sounds like you're needing the 4' Pigtail Wiring Harness for Pollak Replacement 7-Pole RV Socket # PK11998 which you'll splice into your trailer wiring and give yourself a new US CAR plug to connect the socket to.
