Replacement US CAR Connector Plug for a 2015 Chevy Silverado 1500

Question:

Hello, I have a 2015 Chevy Silverado 1500 LT. The lights on my boat trailer were going in and out and I thought it was the 7 way plug that is on my bumper. I bought a new plug and attached it. That did not fix my problem. The problem I’m having is the actual wiring harness socket on the truck that the 7 way plugs into is bad. Is this a part that is hard wired into the truck wiring harness itself? Could you help me find the plug socket that has the wires attached that run into the truck’s electric harness. Thank you so much.

Thanks for all of the details, Jeremy!

It sounds like you're needing the 4' Pigtail Wiring Harness for Pollak Replacement 7-Pole RV Socket # PK11998 which you'll splice into your trailer wiring and give yourself a new US CAR plug to connect the socket to.

You should be able to look at the back side of the bumper on your 2015 Chevy Silverado 1500 and trace the wiring to a good spot where you can cut it to make your Pollak wiring connections. Just be sure to match the wires from the Pollak to the following functions since the wire colors on your Silverado may be different:

Red - Left Turn and Stop - 14 gauge
White - Ground - 10 gauge
Blue - Electric Brakes - 12 gauge
Green - Right Turn and Stop - 14 gauge
Black - Battery - 12 gauge
Brown - Running Lamps - 14 gauge
Yellow - Backup Lamps - 14 gauge
