I checked with Curt and they only have a 2-5/16 inch ball version of the QuickPin with the part # C84DR. S for a 2 inch ball a-frame coupler I really like the Demco coupler part # DM14793-52 which has the eZ Latch that I think is the easiest and least likely to get hard to operate over time like a lot of couplers do. view full answer...
Hey Keith, yeah the A50 coupler isn't made anymore so you would need to go with an all new setup like the Dexter DX7.5L A-60XL part # DX43FR which can be welded in place of what you have now. view full answer...
Thank you for the image of your setup Steve. I do not know what the manufacturer was thinking when they welded in the Demco Actuator on your boat trailer. With how it was installed there is no way for you to access that rear pin without drilling a hole through the frame. They should have installed either the Disc # DM8205222 or Drum # DM8202232 brake actuator which would sit on top of the A-Frame and allow you to access all components of the hitch. If you decide this is the best way to... view full answer...
Hey there Molly,
Really appreciate the previous purchases, and with your coupler height of 17 inches and hitch height of 8-1/2 inches, what you need is a ball mount that will get you as close as possible to an 8-1/2 inch rise - within 1/4 of an inch. For that we have a ball mount that gives you 8-3/4 inches of rise:
- Convert-A-Ball Ball Mount for 2" Hitches # AMSC10
Not only is this the right size for you, the # AMSC10 is a cushioned ball mount, which is really nice as it reduces vibration... view full answer...
That's correct, Bill. After removing your old surge coupler and old brakes you will need to install the new brake assemblies with # 23-105 for the left hand side, and # 23-106 for the right side.
The magnets have 2 wire leads, one for ground, one for power. It doesn't matter which wire you use for which function, they are non-polarity specific. The two power wires will need to be run up the length of the frame and connected together. Ultimately they need to connect to the brake controller... view full answer...
Hey Scott!
Both the 3,500 lb and 3,750 lb brake assemblies work with a 10" x 2-1/4" drum so either one will fit with your hubs, but you can verify your axle capacity either on the sticker tag on the side of your EZ Loader Trailer, or by looking at the tag in the middle of your axle(s).
One you know what weight capacity you have then I recommend getting Free-Backing brakes so you'll be able to back the trailer up. For 3,500 lb brake assemblies this will be part # AKFBBRK-35 and for 3,750... view full answer...
The height from the mounting bracket on the A-Frame Trailer Jack # DL22781 to the top of the jack is 10 3/4". This jack also has a overall retracted height of 20 1/2", and is 9 3/4" from the mounting bracket to the bottom of the jack. view full answer...
Hey Brian, so a-frame jacks aren't designed to have just the inner portion replaced like you asked about. You would need to replace the entire jack which would require cutting off the old jack and welding on a new one like the part # BD155028 that has a wheel caster with part # BD500245.
Now if your jack has a removable foot plate and an outer diameter of 2 inch you could just use the wheel # BD500245. view full answer...
Hi Dan,
Reese hasn't had a 2024 F-250 in yet to test fitment of the Reese Under-Bed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch w/ Custom Installation Kit # RP39FR. The brackets needed to connect the 30180 to the frame are part 30182 or # RP27FR. With both the 2023 and 2024 models using the same gooseneck hitches there's likely no change in fitment and this would work with a 2024, but no one has confirmed it yet. view full answer...
Hey Charley, so trailer jacks like the Bulldog part # BD1700100317 that you referenced don't have set maintenance procedures so we don't have a maintenance video we can share with you. There really isn't anything to do to maintain it aside from maybe just try not to drag it on driveway curbs. view full answer...
Honestly Jeff, you are so close to the 50 degree frame that I don't feel like adjusting the Curt TruTrack Weight Distribution System # C17500 will give you a noticeable difference. Obviously the decision is yours to try making the adjustment and it honestly is not going to hurt anything or require you to buy any replacement parts. And if you feel like the adjustment made it worse then you can easily move it back to the original position. The instructions for the hitch are listed below so... view full answer...
Hey Rodney, appreciate the photo, it was really helpful, and we have exactly what you need here, which is the Chain Hangers # RP58305.
Weight distribution hitches that use brackets aren't going to work due to the placement of your propane tank, which is why the hangers are needed. These will bolt onto your trailer frame so the brackets for your propane tank won't interfere. The weight distribution system with sway control that you'll need to go along with it is the Strait-Line Weight... view full answer...
Thanks for the serial number and your patience, Bryan!
I was able to get a response from my contact at Dexter Axle who said your 2,000 lb axle has an 80" hub face measurement but that the spring seats were shipped loose so the trailer manufacturer could weld them on wherever they needed to.
We unfortunately don't have any axles that meet this criteria so you'll either need to have a shop custom order you an axle or you can install the Timbren Axle-Less Kit # A20RS545 which bolts to the... view full answer...
Hey Randy.
You can install the Mighty Cord Trailer Connector Adapter # A10-7084VP and cap off the blue brake controller output wire with some electrical tape since the Prodigy RF will not be connecting to it. This system detects deceleration and activates the brakes accordingly and the remote gives you the ability to read errors and manually activate the brakes.
The yellow wire on the # A10-7084VP can also be capped off with some electrical tape unless you need a reverse light signal.... view full answer...
You can definitely install under under-bed gooseneck hitch system on your 2005 Ford F350 with 8 foot bed and air suspension installed. I recommend going with the Remov-A-Ball Gooseneck Trailer Hitch Installation Kit # 6300-4449. This will match up to the factory bolt holes on your truck frame, so no drilling is needed! view full answer...
Hey Dan I can definitely help with all of this. The # e43SR Trailer Axle that you were looking at comes with electric drum brake assemblies. In order to connect this to the 7-pin connector on your truck you will simply need a 7-way trailer harness such as part # 50-67-106. This comes with a 7-way plug with 18' of jacketed 7-wire. Since the electrical is trashed, you can use this to completely replace the trailer wiring for the brakes and lights.
No separate actuator will be needed since... view full answer...
