Expert Answers about Ford Trailer Ramp Springs

  • Is There A Trailer Ramp Spring Available With Longer Ears?
  • The Ramp Spring # RS16933RH for right hand and # RS16933LH for left hand are the only ramp springs of this type that we offer. Each ear is about 3-3/4" long when measured from coil to tip, or 5-1/4" when measured from the center of the coil to the tip. Each Spring has 6 full coils and 2 partial end coils that terminate at the spring ends. Unfortunately, we do not offer anything with longer ears.

  • Can Second Conventional Style Ramp Spring be Added to RV Door
  • Hey Matt, it would be pretty difficult to install two of the ramp door springs part # 362SA7 at the same time so it's going to be best to just use the one. You most likely will find that you don't have to have it fully wound to get enough spring to make lifting the ramp easier but you could potentially wind it tighter at that point to get it to help lift even more.

  • Can I Convert My Galvanized Boat Trailer With A Rectangle Axle To Leaf Spring Suspension
  • Hello Robert. It sounds like you are trying to convert your trailer over to leaf spring suspension. Does your trailer currently use a torsion axle? Because leaf spring suspension cannot be added to a torsion axle. If it is just a straight rectangle axle, it is possible to add leaf spring suspension. Spring seats would need to be welded to the axle. We do not offer any spring seats for a square axle, but a spring seat like part # TRSS300 could potentially be modified to fit. You will also...

  • What Gap is Needed between Frame and Spring for SumoSprings Trailer Helper Springs # TSS-107-40
  • Hey Roger, so with both spacers used the overall height of the SumoSprings Trailer Helper Springs part # TSS-107-40 is 6-3/4 inches. So since you have 8 inches between your leaf spring and frame that would mean that there would be a gap of 1-1/4 inches. Ideally the SumoSprings is between 1/4 and 1/2 inch taller than the gap so a spacer of 1-1/2 inch welded on your trailer frame would be ideal.

  • Recommended SumoSprings And Timbren Jounce Springs For A 2021 Grand Design Reflection 337RLS
  • Hi Ryan, If your leaf springs sit on top of your axles then you'll need the SumoSprings Trailer Helper Springs w/ Line Relocation Bracket # SS26MV. If your leaf springs sit below the axles then you'll need the SumoSprings Trailer Helper Springs w/ Line Relocation Bracket # SS33HR. Timbren does offer a few different options for leaf spring suspensions but you won't be able to use both the SumoSprings and Timbrens because they both mount in the same spot. If your leaf springs sit on top...

  • Recommended Upgraded Leaf Springs for a Trailer Travel Trailer That Has Rubbing Tires
  • Hey Bill, sorry to hear about all the trouble you're having but after looking at the pictures you sent in I'd have to agree with the tech. I think you're going to need to up your springs to a beefier set like the 7-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 8,000-lb Trailer Axles # DX74XR. These springs, since they'll be bigger than the ones you have now, shouldn't go flat causing your tires to rub. The only way these would flatten would be if the trailer is overloaded, but since you're saying the trailer...

  • Should I Install an Axle Flip Kit While Changing Leaf Springs?
  • If you are talking about flipping your axle so it mounts below your leaf springs then yes! You should definitely take this opportunity to install an axle flip kit. There is no better time then right now. If this is not what you are talking about then feel free to email me directly with some more information! There are two options to install an axle flip kit which one you need is going to depend on the thickness of your trailer's axle. I have listed both options below: 2-3/8" Diameter...

  • Sidewinder Pin Box for 2022 Wildwood Heritage Glen 5th Wheel
  • The ST200 turret for the # 5AS16K has been discontinued. You may be able to find it still but I wasn't able to when I ran a quick search. At this time, the only Sidewinder we offer that fits the 1621 is the # RP34FR. Also, you aren't hearing from Reese because they're owned by First Brands now. Ever since this change the wait times on the phone are extremely long and many of their parts are gone or on indefinite backorder. The # RP34FR will help with clearance but it won't do anything...

  • Are There 3,500 lb Axles With 89 Inch Hub Face to Hub Face Measurement Without Spring Seats
  • Hi there Chad; there are actually not any 3,500 lb axles with an 89 inch hub face to hub face measurement that does not have spring seats welded on. The ones we offer do have the spring seats welded on at 74 inches apart. That said, if you need spring seats at a measurement different than the 74 inch spacing you can have new ones welded on with the Spring Seat # TRSS238. We don't have two axle kits with suspension but there are a couple options for 89 inch, 3,500 lb axles with hub and...

  • Recommended Lift Kit for a 2010 Jayco Jay Feather Ultra Lite TT
  • Hey Tony, so if your trailer has a leaf spring axle and the leaf springs are mounted under the axle then you could use the Dexter Trailer Springs Over-Under Conversion Kit # K71-384-00, which would move the springs to the top of the axle giving you the height difference equal to the diameter of your axle, plus the thickness of your springs. If you have torsion axles you'd need to let me know what kind you have and I'll see if we have a lift kit. For example, if you had #11 Torflex axles...

  • Option to Lift Jayco Tandem Axle Trailer
  • Hi Sandra; does your Jayco 23B have standard, round axles (we have no way of knowing which axles any trailer has, which is why I ask)? Assuming it does, and and the axles are 3,500 lb, 2-3/8" diameter axles you can use the Dexter Trailer Springs Over-Under Conversion Kit # K71-384-00. This puts the trailer's leaf springs to the top of the axle and will raise it the same amount as your axle's diameter plus the height of the leaf spring pack. Another option, even if your leaf springs are...

  • Can SumoSprings Custom Helper Springs and Coil SumoSprings Be Used Together on 2023 Ford Bronco
  • Yes, the SumoSprings # CSS-1094F and # SS36EV can be used simultaneously on your 2023 Ford Bronco. They install in completely different locations so they won't interfere with each other and will work together to add additional support. Just to be clear, the # CSS-1094F is for the front axle. If you were wanting to add these to the rear and have the 4WD model you would need the # CSS-1168R instead.

  • Hey Lisa, To find the correct SumoSprings for your 2024 Alliance RV Delta 252RL you'll need to first check the axle capacity and see if the leaf springs sit above (overslung) or below (underslung) the axles. • Roadmaster Comfort Ride Suspension Kit For a 2023 Jayco Jayfeather 30QB Travel Trailer
  • Based on the information I could find on your 2023 Jayco Jayfeather 30QB travel trailer it appears you are going to have 4,400lb axles. You are going to need to verify the diameter of your current axles as some manufacturers like Lippert use a 2-3/8" diameter axle tube and others like Dexter use a 3" axle tube. If you have a 3" axle the Roadmaster Comfort Ride Leaf Spring Suspension Kit w/ Shock Absorbers # RM-2460-2560 will be the kit you need. If you have a 2-3/8" axle you will need...
