Hi John,
The Lippert Center Point by Trailair Air-Ride Suspension Upgrade # LC1565391 cumulatively weighs 104lbs. You wouldn't really notice a difference in weight with this system installed. view full answer...
Hello Robert. It sounds like you are trying to convert your trailer over to leaf spring suspension. Does your trailer currently use a torsion axle? Because leaf spring suspension cannot be added to a torsion axle. If it is just a straight rectangle axle, it is possible to add leaf spring suspension.
Spring seats would need to be welded to the axle. We do not offer any spring seats for a square axle, but a spring seat like part # TRSS300 could potentially be modified to fit. You will also... view full answer...
Thanks for all of the information, Robert!
It sounds like you have the Tandem-Axle Trailer Hangers # H248 installed on your tandem axle trailer so to get your Dexter Trailer Axle w/ Electric Brakes # 7359765-EB installed you need the following parts:
- 4-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 3,500-lb Trailer Axles # e54SR
- CE Smith U-Bolt Kit # CE23002
- Suspension Kit for Tandem-Axle Trailers # AP233
You need a total of 4 leaf spring, 2 of the U-Bolt kits, and just one of the suspension kits... view full answer...
Hey Patrick, thanks for reaching out!
The 3.5K Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension - Heavy Duty # ASR35HDS01 have a 5-bolt brake mounting flange so you'll need the etrailer Electric Trailer Brakes # AKEBRK-6.
For the hub and drum assembly you'll need the part # AKHD-655-6-EZ-K (2 per axle). view full answer...
Hello Greg. Generally, yes, shackles are required for any single axle utility trailer. The diagram below will show you the components of a typical single axle setup. You will have shackles on the rear hangers only. This is because as your axle hits bumps in the road it not only gets pushed up, but also back. With the shackle in the back you will have the best ride quality and suspension travel. Without shackles the suspension would likely be quite rough.
The shackles should not be flattening... view full answer...
Hey John,
To have enough clearance for the trailer with a leaf spring suspension to travel over bumps in the road you want to have at least 3 to 4 inches between the tire tread and the fenders as well as 1 to 2 inches between the side wall and inside of the wheel well. As you hit bumps and/or add weight to the trailer the springs will start to compress, moving your tire closer to the fender.
With a Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension like part # ASR35HDS02 the center of your wheels... view full answer...
You are able to reuse the nuts for your wet bolts. And you are able to use the Road Armor Shock Absorbing Equalizer Kit # LC696740 to replace your current equalizers. The minor measurement difference will not cause a noticeable difference in the height of your trailer. I do typically recommend replacing all the wet bolts when you do change out the actuator as it is typically a good time to do so to clean out any dirt and get fresh parts in. Here is a list of the different kits we have depending... view full answer...
Hey Boyd, so the Roadactive suspension kits like the part # RAS3611-HD that you referenced is going to improve your overall towing experience but I don't know if I would say it's an absolute necessity.
This will reduce sag when towing and will also improve ride quality and handling loaded an unloaded so I know you'll be happy with it. view full answer...
Yes, we do have a triple axle Roadmaster Comfort Ride kit for 8k axles with the part # RM-2460-2580-3 which is for 3 inch diameter axles. Since you have 7k Dexter axles that would mean you have 3 inch diameter axles. This would make a huge difference in ride quality and performance on your 2020 Grand Design Momentum 399TH. You should note that just because you will have more suspension capacity the overall capacity of the trailer would not increase. view full answer...
In the past we've found that the trailers that have 31 inch wheelbases use the equalizer # TREQ104 so based on that the correct kit you'd need would be the part # AP233. view full answer...
The Roadmaster Comfort Ride Leaf Spring Suspension Kit # RM-2460-2570 will not change the overall height of your 2019 Grand Design Solitude 310GK. This is designed to keep the trailer at stock height. You may notice a slight difference if your leaf springs are completely worn down but the same would be true if you simply replaced them with regular leaf springs. I double checked the Grand Design parts list and you do have 7k axles so this is the correct kit for your 5th wheel. view full answer...
Hi Mike,
With the height of your equalizer increasing an inch you might need to switch to 3-1/8" shackle straps # TRSL313 to keep the leaf spring stack level but this isn't an exact science so your leaf springs could end up sitting too close to the equalizer and will bind up. Your suspension should form a 'W' shape with the equalizer and shackle straps for proper suspension travel. Too far in or out with your shackles will cause binding or will flip the axles down on the equalizer. Because... view full answer...
Hey Dan I can definitely help with all of this. The # e43SR Trailer Axle that you were looking at comes with electric drum brake assemblies. In order to connect this to the 7-pin connector on your truck you will simply need a 7-way trailer harness such as part # 50-67-106. This comes with a 7-way plug with 18' of jacketed 7-wire. Since the electrical is trashed, you can use this to completely replace the trailer wiring for the brakes and lights.
No separate actuator will be needed since... view full answer...
Hey Daniel, that's a bummer to hear they didn't do all of the work you paid them to. For wet bolts we have the # 126B2 which comes with a nut. To pick out a bushing though I would need to know the outer and inner diameter of what you have currently on the spring. view full answer...
Hey Kyoung, so the Timbren suspension kit part # TNRNVHD does provide an additional 6,000 lbs of suspension support but it does not actually increase the vehicle's towing capacity. Instead it basically just beefs up the suspension so that it doesn't sag as much which helps create a safer driving experience when loaded. view full answer...
Hey Chris, it sounds like you are asking if the MORryde Suspension Upgrade Kit part # MR46ZR could be used on a trailer that weighs 17,000 lbs. The answer to that is yes it could due to it's heavy duty design although it is not officially weight rated. view full answer...
Based on the information I could find on your 2023 Jayco Jayfeather 30QB travel trailer it appears you are going to have 4,400lb axles. You are going to need to verify the diameter of your current axles as some manufacturers like Lippert use a 2-3/8" diameter axle tube and others like Dexter use a 3" axle tube.
If you have a 3" axle the Roadmaster Comfort Ride Leaf Spring Suspension Kit w/ Shock Absorbers # RM-2460-2560 will be the kit you need.
If you have a 2-3/8" axle you will need... view full answer...
While I have no way to see exactly what axles and suspension are under your 1986 Airstream Sovereign I can help you to determine what you will need. I know Airstream typically uses torsion axles and it looks like your travel trailer has a axle rating of around 3,400lbs per axle which is commonly the #10 Torflex rating. We have the 2-5/8" Lift Kit # K71-707-02 for that capacity axle. You can verify if this is correct by measuring the attachment holes. The #10 Torflex has the mounting holes... view full answer...
